New Fraud Sweep Underway - Scores May Fluctuate
If you have not noticed already, the scores of people in the top 25% of the standings have been fluctuating - some wildly. The reason for the movement is our latest reaction to recent attempts to influence the standings of the competition through the submission of false votes.
In the past it has been enough for us to simply delete the fraudulent votes. After some discussions with the other producers we have decided it is time to take additional action.
We have detected everything from a rotating IP robo-voting script (and yes, we have identified the male contestant who deployed it) that was submitting thousands of votes each day to the individual user clickon on their own vote button every hour or so.
Please remember that you may only vote once per audition per day. From this point forward any use of automated voting tools will result in the disqualification of the contestant who deploys the tool. We have very detailed usage logs from this website, as well as several others that are frequented by video internet marketers. Further, we have received reports from active contestants who have named the names of people who are influencing the voting system and the methods they are using to do so.
There are still fraudulent votes in the system, and they are being detected and rooted out every day. The top 10 is pretty pure at this point. If you are hell bent on cheating, please remember that every single vote is going top be inspected by human eyes before ANYONE is selected for the show. You will eventually be caught, even if you make it to the end.
The sad thing is that some of the best videos that were submitted were submitted by less than ethical people. I was personally saddened to learn that some of my favorites that were doing so well did not belong in the top 10 at all.
This is the final warning that I will send on this matter. No one wants to work with a dishonest teammate, and there is no room for cheaters on our show.
Why can’t it be good clean fun????? How sad that there are people trying to defraud the system.

Just my thoughts…here’s what is going to happen…the one’s who most deserve to be in the TAC will make it.
The others should relish the fun they had during the whole process.
I feel that cheating is wrong in any kind of competition and the fact that someone did this because they really wanted to win badly is not the way I play the game and for someone who started at the bottom and I mean the bottom I feel those who should be there will be.
I am proud to be here with whom I consider to the best marketers anywhere I salute all of you.

I contend that there are only about 20-30 people voting anyway. They should review all voters unique IP’s since that is the way to actually validate what the viewing public thinks. Votes from the same IP over and over for the same people validates the concept of the good old boy system. It is not a true litmus test of what the voting public think. It is just a contest of who has the most people in their network that aren’t posting auditions, to drive their votes daily. The same people are voting. No one knows about this contest, unless someone who wants you to vote for them has told you about it. There is no internet buzz about this contest. It is what it is. Think of all the time is spent hitting this site daily. Is that the real motivation? What is the return?
Hands caught right in the cookie jar and the best thing you can come up with is a fat joke? I wouldn’t expect any more from you though.
By the way - I saw that same VH1. It had a group on there called Milli Vanilli. They were cheating their fans and THOUGHT they were getting away with it. But…well you know the rest.
I think this makes perfect since, so pay close attention……
I suggest people need to bring a video that is worth watching, not talking about how great they are and not being able to back it is why some people are not able to get it up. (Sounds like a personal problem to me)
Once you create a video, then drive traffic to it with your lists, family, friends, and coworkers. IF THEY LIKE YOU!!!!!!
This is what the rules say….. If you put up a video and expect people to come out of the blue to vote for you, it is not going to happen, you will fail.
Drive traffic and quit complaining………..

People who are not making the cut seem to cause problems with others to get attention as that is the only way they can get ANY attention.

I have been keeping track of peoples stats. If most of the contestants brought up your base scores, they would be in the top “10″!
For a while there was only an 11 point difference between 1st and 10th.
Since I uploaded my newest video (Base Score 8), I made the gap 17.66 points.
So getting in the top 10 and staying there isn’t hard at all.

I have to say that Ty Hurd is a breath of fresh air. No gimmicks, no flash, no wildly scripted video, just himself. Model your auditions videos after this simple, but personal entry. It explains who he is, what he has done, and why I should keep voting him a “10″ as often as I am allowed. Drop the fluff and show your stuff. He came out of no where and is ranking high. This is what we need to see more of. I don’t know anything about GUTZ and what is being said on this thread, but stop the whining and worrying about who is doing what and just make a video that is real. Build it and they will vote. Stop slinging mud and tears and just make a video that brings it. No one wants to vote for someone that is not sincere, proven, or stuck on themselves.
Also, drop the old videos of the same old message. Stop relying on the high tech screen captures, back drops, fades in and out, music, and junk. Just be yourself, state your case, and let us know why you deserve the vote. This guy is one to watch and has the charisma to get the vote, hold the rank, and bring viewers to the competition.
Remember that your voting public is watching and will put you in or drop you like a bad habit.
Kudos to Chad Van Norman as well for not being too serious about this competition. His creative play upon the hokey side of this site is refreshing. He is saying what most of us are thinking…”Are you serious?” Give us something with heart and a story.
The voting public is watching…gives us something to vote for and follow you until you get on the Challenge. Rise to the Challenge and exploit this go to the next level. Bring your “A” game and you only have a limited amount of time to make a difference.
Obviously, reading these posts, that most of you know each other already and this is a close knit community, but will that make you a success following the pack? Prove why you really want to be here and not turn this into a big frat party of buddies voting for each other. If I can sniff that out, the voters will to. I will not put a bunch of buddies through. I can watch Real World, Big Brother or other reality shows if I want to see a bunch of entertainment.
This is a fight to prove who deserves to be on top. Start dooking it out and separate from the pack.

I noticed you didn’t mention about contestants talking about their disabilities on each video…. this is the same as video with gimmicks, flash, and wildly scripted.
I think you got lucky and once people watch your vid and get bored like others who are falling in the top 10, you will fade…….
Check out Thor’s radio interview… he wants the controversy…… he doesn’t want a boring show where everyone is polite and vanilla.

Original Anonymous…nice rebuttal, but if you rely on gimmicks, then you are not really deserving to be voted on. The voting public is voting on who is best served to be on the show. Not what will get ratings? That comes later, if that is direction and motivation of this site. If that is what this site is promoting behind the scenes, then the show will be what it is then. It will not further your career or networking abilities, but show you for the farce you are. Make sure you promote that side of yourself and be certain you will not get the credibility you are seeking by entering this competition. I would assume your motivation to win this competition would be to bring credibility to yourself, your site, your network, and the next big product or service your slinging.
I don’t think people with disabilities are exploiting their disability to get ratings on here. If you feel they are, then walk in their shoes for one day. But this probably comes from some one who has never faced adversity. You sit quietly in front of your PC everyday, can’t relate to the public, and take solitude in befriending those who don’t know you. Because if they did, they would drop you in a heart beat. I would love to be a resident in your fantasy land. I would rather sweep the streets daily in mine, than be Mayor of yours.
If thinking outside of the box means to make the next great comical and aloof video that no one is taking seriously, then enter The Last Comic Standing. The World needs another Comic, right? Wear that crown then. I thought each video audition was meant to showcase your assets, talents, abilities, and why you should be in the spot light. This is a learning and launching experience, not “Who can make people laugh”.
Controversy…you got it. Funny thing is…I may already have a video audition on here, but posting Anonymously to drive those that are content with the same video from day one, the mockery of the same lame exploits, or even trying to get those on here to raise the bar and prove why they are here. This should be taken seriously.
I am sitting back and asking those who are with me to step it up. I will make myself known after the voting has ended. I see what happens on here with the “networks of buddies” and how the voting affects their clan and those on the outside. I will welcome the competition, but on a fair playing field.
I can’t wait to see how far those with the “intestinal fortitude” fair against themselves on the show. To be promoting each other one day and eating their lunch the next…a group like that will be fun to watch. So, post a reply to me as I look forward to it. But just remember your loyalties will fall by the way side when it comes down to winning or even getting on the show.
Vanilla…there is only one or two video auctions on here that aren’t Vanilla. Sorry for praising those and asking the rest to show their game.
Those that claim to have IT, show IT. I think you can over hear the ring leader on most auditions telling the group…”Where are you at?” “Let’s drive more exposure to the sponsors.” “Let’s help each other out.” “Use this to leverage, drive traffic, and take advantage.” Then, a list of names of fellow networkers start flowing as a challenge. Not one video, but several mimic this concept.
So, what are you here for? Are you building someone else’s network or your own? Are you building their network by building your own? What secret pow-wow video conference will happen next to promote the next product or service?
I hope this drives you to consider why you entered.

How interesting that someone would assume that simply mentioning a disability means we’re playing a sympathy card for votes. If you have that feeling it says much more about you than it does about me.
The honest truth is that there are certain additional challenges that come along with having to do everything differently, and that is either a source of whining or a source of strength from overcoming obstacles as it is for me.
